1985 Royal Doulton Lady Snowman Ds8 FigureTeh original royal doulton ladysnowman (ds8) from the snowman series in immaculate condition. The first snowman range was manufactured by royal doulton between 1985 and 1994, based on the raymond briggs christmas story about a boy, james and a magical snowman. The much loved tale was immortalised by the fabulous animation and the captivating walking in the air sung by aled jones. The lack fo dialogue in the film ensured worldwide popularity which has also extended to the doulton range of snowman figurines. The rarely available lady snowmna is the eighth from the range, where snowman has fun trying on james' mum's clothes. The base is marked with the royal doulton stamp and c 1985 royal doulton (uk). As doulton started manufacture of the series in 1985, and removed the (uk) from the copyright stamp in 1986, this puts manufacture of this figure at 1985.
The base is also inscribed with a hand painted nmuber 86 or 98. I imagine this relates to teh artist, but i am not certain. One owner who kept the figure in a cabinet since new, resulting in the gorgeous condition of this piece. The figure is approximately 13cm tall.
